A small thought was heard by God
This happened when my daughter and I were in the hospital because she got cold. When our children were little it was hard to negotiate to drink fluids and inhalate medicine or water, it was difficult to get well at home and from time to time we had to go to the hospital to restore fluids and start recovering. And during one such hospital stay, I don’t remember what years it was there, but my daughters was maybe 2 years or less. I put my daughter to sleep and I started to tidy, I thought, I would arrange everything and I would pray while she was asleep, because when she gets up I could not pray anymore, because she would want to play and something like that, I will have to deal with her. I had tidy up, and such a small thought flashed, ” if only my daughter would sleep till I pray and do not stop my prayers.” I sat down to pray. At the time, I wanted to pray for litanies. And as I prayed for the last litany I planned, saying the last words of the litany, “Through Christ our Lord. Amen,” my daughter sat in bed right before my eyes, saying those words in my mind. I was very surprised, I remembered my little thought that my daughter would be asleep while I prayed and here she was, exactly to the second. After all, if she had slept for at least another 5-10 minutes, I may not have even remembered that such a thought was with me, but God knows how to show that He does not sleep, that he is not deaf, that he captures all our desires and if that does not harm us, but brings us closer to Him, he fulfills them with pleasure. Praise be to You, Heavenly Father, for Your love and for hearing our smallest thoughts through Christ our Lord amen.
